Murex Offers Training Courses for Gas Inspectors

Murex Welding Products is offering City and Guilds-accredited gas inspector training courses that teach candidates how to inspect oxy-fuel gas systems and how to pass them off as safe for use. According to the company, standards and practices relating to oxy-fuel cutting and welding safety are the subject of continual change, especially with the globalisation of national and European standards. Any company's gas inspectors need to be kept fully up to date in order to keep the workplace and staff safe.

The two-day course includes a theoretical day and a hands-on practical day. Successful candidates are qualified as 'competent inspectors' and awarded the City and Guilds of London certificate. Used as an essential part of the course, a publication, entitled 'The Safe Use of Oxy-Fuel Gas Equipment', has been updated and is now in its fourth edition, with more than 50,000 copies having already been issued to users of oxy-fuel gas equipment, including welders, welding supervisors, technical teachers, managers and those responsible for the use of oxy-fuel gas equipment in the workplace. The publication is written by David Fell of Murex Welding Products.
