IFM Electronic has introduced a range of waterproof safety light curtains and grids for use in wet areas. Rated to IP69K, the new light guards are enclosed in a clear tube, thus reducing dirt traps and simplifying cleaning, even with high-pressure or steam cleaners. This tube has been tested by Ecolab to ensure resistance to common cleaning fluids. The safety light curtains can be supplied in 23 variants, from a fine 14mm resolution for finger protection to a 30mm resolution, protecting areas from 120mm to more than 1.5m in height and ranges to cover widths of up to 15m.
Type 2 and Type 4 devices are available. The IFM IP69K safety light guards comply with the latest standards (SIL2 or SIL3 to IEC61508 or PLd or e to ISO13849). The safety light grids are available in six versions in Type 2 (SIL2, PLd) or Type 4 (SIL3, PLe), covering areas up to 10m in width with two, three or four beams.
