Venting Function for Safety Relief Valves

Witt-Gasetechnik has developed a venting function for safety relief valves, enhancing accident prevention and advantageous when handling flammable and toxic gases. The SV805 A enables functional tests of installed Witt safety relief valves at any time. Andreas Heyer, product manager at Witt-Gasetechnik, said: 'The Witt relief valve SV805 A with straight design has been developed especially for venting with a connected blow-off pipe.

'The escaping gas is not emitted into the ambient air but rather directly led into the blow-off pipe by using the venting function,' he added. In practice, the function enables time savings as safety relief valves previously had to be dismounted for functional tests, which could result in a substantial installation effort. Safety relief valves protect vessels and pipes in gas-technical plants from critical overpressure. The valves blow off gas automatically when the preset opening pressure is reached.
